What we collect, and what happens to it.
SolutionGeek lists case competitions and scores them against your resume. Doing that means holding some of your data. This page says exactly what, exactly where it goes, and how to get rid of it.

What this covers
This covers the SolutionGeek website and the account you create on it. It does not cover the competitions themselves. When you click through to Unstop, a company careers page or a college form, you are on someone else's site under someone else's policy, and we have no part in what they collect.
SolutionGeek is an independent project. It is not affiliated with any organiser listed on it.
What we collect
Nothing is collected from you unless you create an account.
Account
Your email address and name. If you sign up with a password, a hashed version of that password — never the password itself. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email and name from Google and no more.
Profile
Your college, MBA year, graduation year, specialisation and preferred domains, when you give them. All optional. They exist to rank the feed.
Resume
Covered in full in section 03.
Competitions you track
Which competitions you mark, the status you set, any notes you write, and any team members you name. Please note that naming a teammate stores their name on our server. Use initials if you would rather not.
Match scores
For each competition scored against your resume: a number, the breakdown behind it, and the short written reason shown on the card.
Competitions you submit
If you submit a competition, it is stored with a link to your account until it is reviewed. If you later delete your account, the listing stays but the link to you is removed.
Usage
We use Vercel Analytics, which records aggregate usage such as page views and referrers. It is not tied to your account.
Cookies
One kind only: the session cookie that keeps you signed in, set by Supabase Auth. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on this site.
Your resume, specifically
This is the most sensitive thing you give us, so here is the whole path it takes.
You upload a PDF. The server reads the text out of it in memory and the file itself is never saved — not to our database, not to disk, not to any storage bucket. It exists for the length of one request and is gone.
What we keep afterwards is the extracted text, capped at the first 20,000 characters, a structured summary of it, and the date you uploaded it. The text is kept so that re-scoring against newly listed competitions doesn't make you upload the file again.
To produce the scores, that text is sent to Groq, along with the details of up to 25 open competitions and the MBA year you told us. Groq's services agreement states that Groq is not permitted to use inputs or outputs to train or fine-tune models unless the customer explicitly allows it, and their documentation states that by default they do not retain data from inference requests, other than for up to 30 days where needed to investigate abuse or troubleshoot errors. We have not granted any training permission.
Your resume is never shown to another user, and it is never sent to a competition organiser.
Who else sees it
Four companies process data on our behalf. They are listed here with what each one actually receives.
SupabaseAuthentication and database
Holds your sign-in identity and every stored field described above.
VercelHosting and analytics
Runs the site. Receives requests, and aggregate usage data.
GroqResume scoring
Receives resume text, competition details and your MBA year at the moment you upload. See section 03.
ResendEmail
Receives your email address and the contents of deadline reminders we send you.
These are international services, so your data may be processed on servers outside India.
What we don't do
- We do not sell your data. There is no arrangement under which anyone pays us for it.
- We do not run advertising, and there are no third-party ad or tracking scripts on this site.
- We do not send your resume, your name or your email to competition organisers.
- We do not post anything anywhere on your behalf.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account exists. We do not currently expire data on a schedule — your tracked competitions and your resume text stay until you change them or delete your account.
Match scores are the exception. Every time you upload a new resume, all of your existing scores are deleted and replaced, because a score computed against an old resume is worse than no score.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account yourself, at any time, from your account settings. It is immediate and it is not reversible.
Deleting your account removes:
- your profile, including college, year, specialisation and preferred domains
- your resume text, the summary derived from it, and the upload date
- every match score and its reasoning
- every competition you tracked, with its status, notes and team member names
- your saved competitions
- your sign-in identity
Competitions you submitted to the site are kept, because other people rely on those listings — but the link between the listing and you is removed, so it is no longer attributable to you.
Deletion removes the data from our database immediately. Our providers may retain it briefly in routine backups before those expire.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed by Supabase Auth; we never see or store a plaintext password. Access to the database is restricted to the application.
We would rather be plain than reassuring: this is a small, independently run project, not an organisation with a security team. No system is perfectly secure. Please do not put anything in a tracking note that you would be harmed by seeing disclosed.
Age
SolutionGeek is built for MBA students in India and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
If what we collect or who we send it to changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. This page describes how SolutionGeek actually works as of that date — it is a description of practice, not legal advice.
Exercising your rights
You can see everything we hold about you on your matches and tracker pages, correct your profile from settings, and erase all of it from the same place.
